The acting in this movie is incredible, the characters have depth and are well cast. Nickolson is the perfect lead, just the right amount of manic to sell this character. The storyline is unique and well developed and draws genuine emotions. Very well made. Jack Nicholson uses his talents for manic characters well in this movie. Louise Fletcher is stone cold and evil and an equal match for Nicholson. The whole movie from start to finish makes you wonder how you would react to such a situation. I like the twists and the turns in the movie especially one the with Indian chief. Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito and others round out this great ensemble movie about life in the mental ward. Cucukoo's Nest sets a standard for how mental institutions should NOT be run. Nicholson as R.P, McMurphy portrays one of the most memorable characters from literature. A must see movie.
